In the past several weeks, I’ve been amused by the daily webcomics delivered by Mark Rogers at FallingFifth dot com.
Mark began posting the webcomics in late November, barely missing a beat now two months later. The humor topics vary, and Mark says that a lot of his material comes from the situations he encounters or the phrases that people say throughout the day.
Mark also stated “some of the less funny ones come from me staring at a blank screen until something comes to me.”

It won’t take you long to discover that Mark has a different way of looking at the definition of words and the situations encountered in every day life. These are a couple of examples of his work, one webcomic posted each day. Recently, Mark also introduced the wondrous RSS capabilities through FallingFifth - what’s better than having a good laugh delivered to your screen each and every morning?!
It might also help you to know that Mark has a background in music theory, and it will certainly show through! If you are not oriented towards music at all, perhaps you can look at the first comic again, remember that a metronome is a device that produces a regulated pulse - usually to keep a steady beat in a musical composition. Yeah - it’s definitely more funny knowing that. All of the humor is in good nature - I recommend that you check it out.

It’s a toss-up between the Metro Gnome and the Hello Hello as to which is my favorite. Both make me laugh quite a bit. Alright, I will share with you one more, then seriously - you need to go check it out.

Thanks to you I went to the website and read them all. Time well wasted indeed.
I forgot all about Mark’s blog! He’s quite the funny guy.
I’m gonna start a web comic . . . soon . . . ish. I finally have a scanner. I just need the will.
It’s been one month, have you found the will?
Lol, ironically, I was just at Mark’s site again yesterday for the first time since this post, and that and my semi-recent discovery of xkcd.com put me in the mood. But it was late last night that I took out the paper and pen and started sketching random ideas, and because I had a pen and not a pencil, and because it’s been forever since I’ve drawn, and because I was tired, and because my cat decided to make the paper his bed (right over my drawings!), I stopped.
But I have the character design chosen, and I have ideas for the first couple of comics. And Steve has the space on his website all ready and waiting for me. I just need more will. Do you have any to spare?
