mybloglog.jpgwhitespacer.jpgI was recently asked why there were pictures of naked girls on this page, and I have to admit - I was a little confused. I knew that I had not yet posted the pictures of any naked girls, and though I display picture advertisements on my webpage driven by Google adsense, I hardly thought that Google would be the source of freely distributable pornography on my measley blog. Quick to the defense, I retorted “what are you talking about?” Turns out, several of the picture profiles on the righthand sidebar contained the images of girls in their bra or tight shirt.

Far from naked, I explained the purpose of the sidebar content. Then it dawned on me, I might have confused more than one person who isn’t in the loop with MyBlogLog. Previous to the MyBlogLog content, I had displayed an advertisement in that same location - so I can understand how this widget could have appeared to be yet another advertisement to the unsuspecting. You see, mybloglog is put in place for the purpose of creating and establishing relationships withing the largely popular blogging communities. Readers can become friends with other people who read their blog, see what else their reading, and discover more places on the web! MyBlogLog is put in place to enable the blogger to interact better with its viewers. I’ve found the utility quite useful, and have enjoyed the contents of several blogs I would have never found without the tool.

It is not required, though I have chosen, to display on my blog the recent readers that have viewed the site - of course, they have to be registered with MyBlogLog, otherwise it can’t display a persons profile. I have chosen to display the pictures of the known readers from the MyBlogLog community, and I think it’s been worthwhile. How do you feel about it being available?

As you can see, I have chosen not to show the advertisement in that location (at least not on the homepage). So, sorry to confuse you if you thought this was just another advertisement. Now you know what the item is all about, and if you didn’t know - perhaps you should go register for MyBlogLog so that you can leave your stamp behind on the blogs that you visit! The ‘naked’ girls might appear from time to time - but that’s just because they like my blog! :) By the way, one (I won’t say which) of those girls I’ve known for some time now. And truth be told, she is actually a he. The internet can be a confusing place! :)

You can’t help what people put in their avators. It’s just one of those things. Until MyBlogLog restricts those types of things, it just happens.

As far as any ads from Google’s Adsense, I believe there’s a box that you check while creating your code that states that you do not want any adult content type of ads listed.

I do wish that MyBlogLog did regulate these types of avators though. It doesn’t bother me, but it may bother my readers and my site isn’t related to any adult themes or content.

Yup - you are right! I haven’t had any adult content ads from Adsense - at least not yet. Perhaps this post will yield a few. :) Whoops.
