Yes, I said free back-up protection for your contacts. This is a note to all Verizon wireless customers, my upfront apologies for those of you who are connected to another wireless network carrier. Okay now for the good stuff, this is really good news - and it would be an absolute shame for you not to take advantage of it!
Verizon Wireless has newly launched a free backup protection program for your contacts on your cell phone! What does this mean: You can backup your contacts from your phone for free, they are securely stored online and available for you to download to a new phone in the event that you switch phones or lose your current one. The best part is, it’s all free! I’ve been pestering Verizon to do this for a long time, and I actually can’t believe that it is actually become a reality, it’s like my very own Christmas present direct from Verizon.
Even if you do not plan to switch to another phone, you know the probability of you losing or breaking your cell phone is very high, so I suggest that you follow these next steps RIGHT NOW to back up your contacts. Please note this: The $1.99 monthly fee that you are asked to accept will be waived as long as you remain a My Account customer. You will not see a charge for this service on your bill.
Whoa, whoa, whoa - $1.99 a month to store my contacts - no thanks. That’s a thing of the past my friend, the nice folks at Verizon will WAIVE THIS FEE for you so long as you remain a my account customer. What does it take to remain a my account customer? I recently called Verizon to check on this, and so long as you have an account with which to sign in online, you are a My Account Customer. If you do not have an account to sign in online, call to find out what it is. All individuals with a personal cell phone should have a My Account online. The people who are most likely not to have this My Account access are those under a business plan. If you don’t believe this, you can check their website or give them a free call from your mobile phone by dialing *611.
How to Setup FREE Backup Protection Services:

These steps should take you less than five minutes in all, and to use the Get IT Now service is also free, so don’t worry if you have never used it or seen it before. Once downloaded the setup process is guided on the phone in under 60 seconds, the backup process is nearly as quick. You can then setup a daily scheduled time to backup new contacts that you might enter into your phone. You will also need to setup a PIN for future access to the numbers.Guess what, it gets just a little better - Once you have backed up your data, you can browse to https://www.getbackupnow.com/ to view all of your uploaded contacts, add new, print old, see last backup, etc. This is an amazing feature to have at hand without being charged, and I am very excited to see that Verizon has incorporated it for free!
u shpuld see if you got a contract extension with that….
Good thinking, but nope, my original contract is still on its target date and due in several months. Regardless, in my opinion Verizon is the best choice out there - so contract or not, I’m IN!
