Many have made note of recent changes popular site digg has made, and I for one am not a fan. Recent changes in algorithms have created a more difficult journey for articles to become nominated to the front page, but I think it has become near impossible!

Though I agree with the masses that the articles worth reading had become watered down and muddied up among the overpopulated submission, I think we are now at an opposite extreme and perhaps digg is shooting themselves in the foot? I’ve refreshed my browser all day long looking for those new articles, and unfortunately the same few showed up over and over. The most recent post that made it to the front page was dugg over 8 hours ago! I had to go through an entire day of work to see nothing new at lunch, nothing new now, and who knows..maybe there will be something new before I go to sleep tonight.

If this is the way it’s going to be, I want the old way back! Sure, more people are looking at the upcoming, but lets at least let a few more posts to the front; I know there are plenty that don’t want to sift through 300 pages of upcoming stories that refresh far too quickly to keep up with. Are you with me?

Well written and thought provoking article! I think the new algorithms are a serious problem and need to cease. TODAY! Jeff is a Great American! Well…. if he had voted today he would be even a greater American. I am with you though Jeff. Keep these cerebal, spontaneous and vexing articles coming.
