This morning I am sitting here minding my own business, working away, when one of my coworkers invites me over to view his computer screen. He shows me notepad with some strange formatting on a document he had just written.
Strangeness:
1. Document was shifted entirely right aligned
2. End punctuation was entirely on the far left of each line (even though the lines read correctly)
3. The vertical scroll bar was on the left hand side
After some experimenting I have figured out how it is done, but I still don’t know why it is done. Anyone know why this unfamiliar feature is built into notepad?
To make this happen on any notepad document:
Press (ctrl) + (right shift key)
To reverse the process:
Press (ctrl) + (left shift key)
The purpose of this post is to ask if anyone knows why this occurs?
Jeff, if you can’t keep up on all your other blogs, how do you think you can keep up on this one?! I think you will leave your blogging world for months at a time, leaving the avid reader hanging! (I’m referring to your abandoned xanga site!) Well, just thought I’d pick fun at you for a bit! Also, your archives list on the side is missing June 2006 and January 2006, as well as August through December of 2005….Is this on purpose?! How can one simply leave out those crucial months of a year?! Do you have something against these months? What did these months ever do to you?! haha, have a good one Jeff!
Jeff, I know why notepad does that. just kidding i don’t have a clue at all…what do you even use notepad for? just curious!

I use it to write these posts actually. It also comes in handy for….NOTES! On that note, I’m not sure Google would actually have any use for my blog. Perhaps they’ll reconsider if I put a picture of you up!

I can’t say I know what caused it, but I’ve had something similar happen, restarting the program was the only answer I could come up with, but then you lose your data……
