dst.jpgwhitespacer.jpgAs mentioned previously, Daylight Savings Time is upon us. Hopefully by now you’ve come to this realization if you first forgot when you put your feet in bed Saturday evening. Not very much excitement, and nothing on the brain to really discuss. I am however thankful that the Tivo corporation came through as promised; my Tivo proudly changed its time right on cue despite all the rumors of technology equipment burning up in flames over the slight change.

I couldn’t help but notice that the church service this morning was a little more thinned than normal. I’m not sure if people forget to set their clocks ahead, or if they need the extra hour of sleep. Maybe they accidentally set their alarm ahead too! Either way, I can’t think of anyone that really looks forward to this time of year - I mean, who likes to lose an hour of sleep and then get ready for church in the morning only to be arriving as everyone else is leaving? You know that someone was thinking things through to put the time change on the weekend and not a week day - I’m sure the clock would be a popular excuse each and very year at the workplace! Now, the fall - that’s easy! Everyone loves to set their clocks back, even if the hour is wasted by staying out an hour later.

I wonder if we can’t change things around a little - has anyone ever considered setting the clocks back in the spring time too? Wait - Wouldn’t we be living in the dark in a few years during AM hours? No - I mean, REALLY set the clocks back!! What if each spring, instead of setting the clocks ahead an hour, we rolled them back 23 hours! Thing of the advantages - An extra day to the weekend each year! No more skipping random early AM hours!! No more losing sleep! We would actually gain almost an entire day of rest! Is anyone with me?
